Adil Rasheed is a research scientist at the Applied Mathematic Department of SINTEF Information and Communication Technology in Norway. He is currently involved in research and development work in the area of wind engineering with emphasis on terrain induced turbulence prediction for air traffic management, optimization and safety. Adil received his PhD in the field of Urban Climatology from the Solar Energy and Building Physics Laboratory (LESO) at the Ecole Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne (EPFL), Switzerland. Prior to that, he completed his masters degree in Thermal and Fluids Engineering and bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, India. In his free time he is an avid painter and an amateur photographer.
Former employees Karl Johan Eidsvik and Torbjørn Utnes have made significant contributions regarding local wind and terrain-induced modeling, simulation and prediction applied to local area airport forecasting as well as wind and turbulence studies related to the planning of airport modifications.
