SESAR

Title:Single European Sky ATM Research (SESAR)

Project summary: The optimization group is involved in four different SESAR projects (P 5.6.5, P 10.9.2, P 12.3.2 and P 12.3.3). P 5.6.5 will start in January 2012 and we will cooperate with SAAB and DFS to develop an decision support module that supports conflict management for the radar controller. Within P 10.9.2 the purpose is to develop an optimization scheduling plug-in to an advanced departure manager that SAAB is developing. The departure management system is used by air traffic controllers and will sequence and schedule airplanes for take-off.  In project 12.3.2 and 12.3.3, we’re working with Park Air Systems to develop robust routing functionality for surface management. The functionality is key to improving the flow of airplanes at busy airports.
