Conference venue
The Conference will be held at the Holmenkollen Park Hotel Rica, Oslo, Norway. The hotel is located in the surrounding hills of Oslo and allows fabulous views over the city centre and the Oslo Fjord. Parts of the hotel date back to 1894 and the "National romantics" period. A rich cultural inheritance is blended with all the "mod con" facilities of a first class hotel. Hotel rooms are pre-booked at this hotel. 

Oslo as a winter destination is traditionally associated with ski jumping in Holmenkollen. In less than 20 minutes from the busy city streets you arrive in untouched nature. Oslo city offers inhabitants and visitors over 2000 kilometres prepared cross-country ski trails which brings you deep into the peaceful forests. Some of the tracks start at Holmenkollen, an illuminated ski track runs from the hotel  and skis can easily be arranged. There's no other capital in the whole world that can offer nature this close to a cultural hub.

Information to speakers
Your presentation should be made available to the organisers on a USB stick, preferable during the registration on Tuesday. If you arrive later the presentation should be made available to the organisers in the conference room at the latest in the break before the specific session starts. The presentation should preferably be on PowerPoint format, alternatively Adobe Acrobat pdf format. You can also check that your presentation works fine on the conference room computer when you deliver your presentation.
 
Please prepare a short note,  including what you would like the chairman to mention when introducing you before your presentation (affiliation, position, degree, field of work, ect.).

How to get to Holmenkollen Hotel:

From the airport:
Upon arrival at Oslo Airport, Gardermoen, you can take the Airport Train directly to Oslo Central Station (Oslo S); trains depart every 10 minutes. Travel time is approx. 20 minutes, and the cost of a single ticket is NOK 170.00

The underground/tram stops at Besserud.
Walk along the path  from Besserud [tram stopp] to Besserud (buss stop) . Takes app . 1 minute.  Take the buss marked direction "linje 1 Frognerseteren"
Waiting time there can be 6 minutes . The bus drives you to buss stop  Holmenkollen .From  Holmenkollen  you walk along a path to the Hotel for app . 1 minute

Taxi from the Central Station (Oslo S)
The taxi journey takes approx 20 minutes, and the cost is between NOK 200.00 - 350.00, depending on what time you will be travelling and number of passengers

We may offer special prices by taxi from the Gardermoen Airport directly to the Holmenkollen Park Hotel Rica. Just contact the Airport Taxi stand, next to the arrival gate inside or pre-order at: +47 02323

How to get from Holmenkollen Hotel to the airport:
A NextGenBioWaste bus will take the participants from the hotel to the airport on 17 Feburary at 15.45 (sharp). The trip to the airport takes about 1 hour.

Registration to the conference:
The registration will take place on 16 October from 08:00 at the Holmekollen Hotel, Conference department.

Lunches:
Lunches on 16 February will take place from 13:00 – 14:00 at the restaurant of the Hotel.
Lunches on 17 February will take place from 11:30 – 12:30 at the restaurant of the Hotel.

The conference sessions:
All the sessions will take place at the Holmenkollen Hotel.

Social event and Conference dinner:
The social event will take place on 16 February and starts at 18:00 at Holmenkollen Hotel (please gather in reception area).

As all participants are invited to take part in a sleigh ride in the winter night it is important to wear warm clothes and good shoes. The area around the hotel invites to wonderful outdoors activities, one favourite is to experience the winter white forest surrounding comfortably seated in a horse drawn carriage. Horses and carriages will meet at the hotel, and seated under soft rugs we drive out and further upwards the hills and into the magical white forests. Here we will make a little stop in a lavvu tent which is circular tent with an open fire place in the middle. Here hot drinks will be served along with some typical Norwegian snacks. After approximately an hour we return back to the hotel for the Conference dinner.

The Conference dinner will take place on 16 February at 20:00 and takes place at the Holmenkollen Hotel.

There is free wireless internet access at the hotel. User-id and password can be obtained at the reception. They have a duration of 24 hours.

The Centre is open for hotel guests.
