MARINTEK do Brasil Ltda. is the Brazilian subsidiary of MARINTEK (Norwegian Marine Technology Research Institute) and part of the SINTEF Group. We offer R&D and advanced technical consultancy services within marine and materials technologies.

Our projects are developed in close cooperation with the oil and gas, shipbuilding, equipment, metallurgy and materials industries. The Brazilian company has a local team of experts and counts with total support of the researchers and laboratories in Norway and USA. Our goal is, through innovation and research, to develop solutions and technologies that are actually used by the Brazilian industry and society.

MARINTEK do Brasil supports the 2012 ROMS workshop, to be held in Rio de Janeiro, from October 22-25, 2012. The ROMS workshop gathers the ocean modeling scientific community and ROMS users to present and discuss about the latest advancements, research and applications of the ROMS model. The workshop is an annual event that alternate between the US and other countries, and the 2012 workshop will be the first in South America. This year’s workshop has a special focus on modern observational programs, advanced observational systems and modeling techniques. MARINTEK do Brasil will give a talk on the integration between ocean modelling and advanced studies on the integrity of offshore structures.

MARINTEK do Brasil has the pleasure to invite you to seminar addressing Stress and fatigue analysis of flexible risers and umbilicals and Deep-water hydrodynamics models of pre-salt conditions, to be held on Friday, July 6th, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Windsor Barra Hotel, Rooms Queluz I and II, on first lower level (SS 1).  MARINTEK supports OMAE 2012, to be held in Rio de Janeiro. On that occasion, MARINTEK will arrange a seminar on July 6th on the safe and cost effective design and operation of floating production systems offshore Brazil, with focus on Stress and fatigue analysis of flexible risers and umbilicals and on deep-water offshore hydrodynamics. Speakers include researchers from MARINTEK Trondheim, MARINTEK do Brasil and Norwegian University of Science and Technology – Dept. of Marine Technology. Detailed program coming soon.
