We have organized workshops on the topic of GPGPU and stream processing. In addition, we have also contributed to several other academic meetings.

2008-: Heterogeneous Computing Special Interest Group

Together with students and researchers at the Uiversity of Oslo and other institutions and companies, we arrange meetings where we discuss recent developments in heterogeneous computing.

2009: NVIDIA and SINTEF HPC GPU Computing Mini-Workshop

Together with NVIDA's Tesla deartment, we organized a half-day workshop on HPC GPU Computing. The mini-workshop focused on: 

• Why have heterogeneous architectures become increasingly attractive?
• How does GPUs differ from traditional symmetric CPUs?
• What software tools and what level of developer support exist?
• What kind of problems map well to GPU computing?
• Challenges of GPU computing, trivial patterns easily become non-trivial.
• Experiences and case studies from SINTEF and NVIDIA.

2008: Seventh International Conference on Mathematical Methods For Curves and Surfaces

We have organized a minisymposium on heterogeneous computing for the MMCS conference in 2008. Topics included geometry processing, synthesis of textures, comparison of architectures and simplification of finite element meshes.

2008: Second National Winter School in eScience

As part of the eVita eScience Meeting 2008  (20-25 January 2008) researchers from the Heterogeneous Computing project held 2 days on the topics of "Stream processing" and "Parallel programming with the Cell BE processor".

2006: GPGPU Workshop in Oslo

As part of the GPGPU project we organized a workshop on using the graphics processor as a computational resource in Oslo. Topics included histogram pyramids, visualization of implicit surfaces, inpainting, and linear algebra. See separate page for more information.

As part of the GPGPU project we organized a workshop on using the graphics processor as a computational resource in Trondheim. Topics included graphics processor architecture, programming, demonstrations and possible uses of the graphics processor. See separate page for more information.
