The value of computational geometry algorithms show their full potential when properly integrated into advanced information flows in industry and government. Some projects address short term challenges while other projects address long term challenges. Many of the projects produce algorithms that are made available to other researchers and industry though our software toolkits and the projects supporting these toolkits.
We currently participate in 3 projects within isogeometric representation and analysis, see the thematic pages addressing Isogeometric analysis for detailed information. Our role is concentrated on different aspect of isogeometric representation and the development of the isogeometric toolkit.
The integration of geometric information in advanced information flows is significantly simplified by semantic annotation. We have participated in two EU-sponsored projects related to the semantics of shape
In many geometric algorithms the combination of algebraic and parametric representations is beneficial to achieve good computational performance.
