CO2 transport

Transport of CO2 links CO2 capture and storage. The challenge in offshore CO2 transport is primarily related to pipeline integrity and lies in making suitable modelling tools, obtaining experimental data, and formulating new specifications and requirements. Further, the transported CO2 will be mixed with other components, and more and better experimental measurements on the thermo-physical properties of these mixtures are needed.

Strategy and value creation:

The value creation from SP2 is linked to:

  • The possibility of optimising pipeline design and operation based on improved know-how and models for analyses
  • The exploitation of business opportunities connected to trading of CO2
