The research activities within Academia will be an integrated part of the Centre activities, with an estimated total of 18 PhDs and 8 post-docs completed within the proposed tasks of CO2 capture, transport, storage, and chain. The majority of the PhD projects will be associated with the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), with the exception of 2 PhDs proposed for TUM (Germany) and 1 PhD proposed for UiO, The PhD and post-doc candidates are expected to work in collaborative teams including both their supervising professors and scientists from the research partners. At NTNU a number of MSc thesis projects are expected to be connected to the Centre activities, and the university is planning to work for an increased funding for MSc programs in order to facilitate larger numbers of candidates in disciplines relevant for CCS. The academic activity also includes exchange of international researchers and hosting of international workshops and conferences.
