Recycling of plastic materials

Norway has an ambitious goal of material recycling 30 % of all plastic packaging. In the EU the goal is to material recycle 22,5 %. But there is not much demand for recycled plastics in the industry and very few products to be found. On behalf of Plastretur, the company that organizes, collect and recycle plastics waste in Norway, SINTEF is engaged in a research project with the aim to increase material quality of recyceled plastics. Enhanced material quality and less odour from recycled plastics is a prerequisite to meet the 30 % goal.
